Fab Moms: Kate Middleton

Okay, so she’s not a mom yet and still a mom-to-be, but we still think the duchess is super fab at 6 months pregnant. Here’s why we think she will be a great mom:

  • Her Style: As expected, she has handled pregnancy with the most style and grace one could possibly muster. So classy and chic - always.
  • Her Perspective: She was not born into royalty, giving her a humble perspective that we think she will surely pass on to her little one.
  • Her Charity: She just spent her 2 year wedding anniversary with Prince William visiting a Children’s Hospice, not at some fancy dinner or event.
  • Her Family Values: She plans to spend the 6 weeks following the birth of her royal baby living with her parents in Berkshire.

It has yet to be reported whether the duke and duchess are having a boy or girl, but royal blood aside, we think this little one will be lucky to have a mother like Kate!

36 Weeks And Fit: Tracy Anderson’s Pregnancy Project Workout

Tracy Anderson: The Pregnancy Project

There are obviously lots of ways to stay fit and healthy during your pregnancy, but we love the idea of a workout that was created specifically for pregnant women. The Tracy Anderson Pregnancy Project is just that.

The workout set includes 9 different DVD workouts - one designed for each month of pregnancy…brilliant! What’s even better is that Tracy filmed these DVDs in real-time while pregnant with her second child, so you there is a real feeling of being able to relate to the person on the screen.

Beyond just workouts, the set includes interviews and tips from doctors, and other expecting mothers, nutrition tips, and more.

Safe to say we love Tracy… and she loves us right back! Check out her rave review of the Amalou Skin product line!

“I have become obsessed with this wonderfully focused line of skincare  during my pregnancy, and my face has never been more clear or alive.  Amalou is skincare designed for pregnancy and it not only totally safe for pregnant women to use, but it is also incredibly kind to your skin.”

Fab Moms: Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner has two adorable girls and one boy with hunky husband Ben Affleck and we think she is just fab as a mom. Here is why:

  • She regularly is seen out and about with her children, interacting with them, taking them to dance class, etc. She is one hands-on mama!
  • She has a great mommy-chic style, but can also seriously glam it up when she needs to (Did you see her at the Oscars?!)
  • She keeps a sense of humor about being a mom. In a recent interview on The Ellen Show, Garner joked that ‘he didn’t pee in my eye,’ when asked about how her newest baby boy Samuel is different from having girls.

Mrs. Affleck has said that her parenting style changes and evolves with each new baby - something that all moms of more than one child can relate to:

“It evolves all the time. With my first child, I was a little more like Cindy Green in this movie who is just obsessively trying to make sure her child is happy at every moment…as many first time moms can be,” Jennifer said as she compared her experience as a mom to her characters. “Then you kind of learn to let go of some of that…you chill out a bit.”

The Glow: Maternity-Conscious Ways To Protect Your Skin In The Sun

           image

With spring right around the corner, the sun will be warming us up in no time (fingers crossed!), but that means it’s time to bump up the SPF! There are lots of products out there that effectively protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, but, like our maternity-conscious products, we wanted to highlight a few of our favorite, safe options.

For Face: After moisturizing with our GLOW Balancing Moisturizer, apply an SPF that is made for the face. If you are prone to oily skin or blemishes, we recommend using a powder-based SPF that doubles as foundation for coverage. Some baby-safe products we love are Smashbox High Definition Dual Finish Micro Powder and bareMinerals Foundation - both are a safe choice that offer sun protection and great coverage for flawless skin! Find both at Sephora.com

      image

For Body: Any sunscreen that is mineral based (made with either titanium dioxide or zinc oxide) are the safest choices during pregnancy. Two that we recommend are Nature’s Gate Mineral Sport Block SPF 20 and Vanicream Sunscreen SPF 60, for more protection.

Baby Love: Two Amazing Nursery Designs That Work For A Boy Or A Girl

One of the really fun parts about prepping for baby is nesting - specifically the nursery design and decorating! Planning can be tough if you are waiting until delivery to find out the baby’s sex. We are here to help! Below are a few of our favorite design ideas to welcome baby boy or baby girl home.

       image

We love the whimsical feel of this nursery. It is funky and unique, and almost feels like it is right out of a Doctor Seuss book! What a great environment to foster imagination and creativity for a boy or a girl.

                    image

Although blue and green are typically “boy” colors, we think this design would be perfect for a girl, too. We are loving the playful whale print of this wallpaper, the cool dual-tone color scheme, and the great lamp.
